Working with project managers and leadership, I produced sharp and lively case statements for Digital Pulp, a marketing firm in New York City that produces websites and marketing strategy for higher education clients. My work highlighted the steps the firm took to solve client problems and produce up-to-date digital marketing tools so universities can tell their stories to prospective students and donors.

Working in a fast-paced environment, I trained and managed a small team of editors to maximize the quality and SEO results of content for a suite of consumer-oriented sites. We analyzed data to develop editorial strategies and content that met evolving and dynamic objectives. I maintained social media campaigns for multiple websites and used project management software to track dozens of synchronous projects.
Research Marketing & Copywriting, University of California 2007-2015
Reporting to the Dean of Letters and Science, I produced articles for U.C. Berkeley’s College of Letters and Science with a focus on new research in the humanities and social sciences. To broad- cast my reportage, I produced an electronic marketing newsletter in Drupal aimed at prospective students and donors. I also served as a regular contributor to U.C. Office of the President news site, highlighting innovations in medical research and wrote for U.C. Berkeley’s College of Engineering writing profiles of faculty, news about research and reportage about student work.
Cultural Reporter, Openculture.com 2012-2014
As a regular contributor I produced stylish, engaging blog posts about great cultural and educational online resources for Openculture, an online magazine highlighting the best resources on the web. My role was to curate and highlight art, science and educational resources online for a general audience interested in culture.
Editor, East Bay Monthly Magazine 2001-2006
Working with a co-editor, I assigned and edited all articles for the East Bay Monthly. Thoroughly critiqued, edited, and rewrote articles both short and long, and planned future issues. Worked closely with production team on the visual presentation of the magazine each month.

I produced white paper reports, marketing copy, newsletters and executive speeches for the educational policy research organization WestEd. Collaborating with researchers and designers, I developed concise, accessible documents aimed at policy makers, educators, entrepreneurs, investors and legislators.

Staff reporter covering the criminal justice beat for The Recorder legal daily newspaper. Provided detailed coverage ofjudicial races, examining the influence of political clubs and consultants on campaigns. Wrote behind-the-scenes reportage of key trials and covered the state criminal bar.
